With social distancing becoming part of current daily life, there are a lot of people at home looking for something to do. The weather is helping by allowing us to enjoy some fresh air, and we’re experiencing more and more days that are ideal for yard work. Preparing your own landscaping can occupy your time, give you some exercise, and prepare your outdoor living space for the warmer weather ahead.
Twin Oaks Landscape is Here to Help
We can guide you in installing your own mulch. In addition, we are also offering a safe mulch delivery service that complies with health protocols to slow the spread of COVID-19. The health and well-being of all are of utmost importance to us.
Benefits of Mulch
This is about the best time of year to install mulch and receive the most benefits. Some Spring weed seeds are beginning to germinate or will be germinating very soon. Mulch is a natural pre-emergent, so mulching now can inhibit weed growth. Mulch also assists with moisture retention. And mulch will stabilize the soil temperature and limit high or low-temperature fluctuations. Plus, it is much easier to install mulch prior to or as the perennials begin to emerge, rather than once they fully extend.
Twin Oaks Landscape is working hard to find ways to help you with your landscape needs, even under the current circumstances. You can order mulch on our website and make payments over the phone via credit card only. (Sorry, no checks will be accepted.) Mulch deliveries can be completed with one person to follow social distancing guidelines, and the entire process involves no human touch. We utilize a machine to load and unload the product. In addition, there is no need for customer contact. We will then deliver your mulch right on your driveway.
We are currently able to make several deliveries per day. However, it is important to note that mulch delivery is only available for customers in the Ann Arbor and Saline areas.
How Much Mulch Do I Need?
Determining how much mulch you need isn’t very difficult. For areas that contain an existing layer of mulch: 1 yard covers 162 sq. ft. (16×10 approximate area) providing a 2” thickness (recommended). For bare dirt areas, recommend doubling the area for a 4” thickness. When in doubt, give Twin Oaks a call.
Our Mulch Delivery Order form can be found on our website. This is for deliveries only as we follow best practices to protect the health and well-being of our customers and our staff.
