Why Soil Test?

At Twin Oaks, our goal is to provide a sustainable solution for you by giving you the opportunity to get the best value out of your landscape.  By providing you with the option of a comprehensive soil test, we are setting you up for long term success in your landscape.

By having your soil tested you can learn which nutrients are present and which ones need to be added depending on the plant(s) you are trying to grow. You can avoid over-application of fertilizers which can waste money, reduce plant quality and pollute streams, lakes and groundwater.  Based on your soil test results, you will receive a custom fertilization program to meet the needs of your plants and safeguard the environment.

Soil tests are submitted to the local state extension office, and are then sent to Lansing for analysis.  Test results usually take 2-3 weeks from collection.  Please let us know if you would like this service performed prior to having your landscape design initiated.
