Mulch and Pre-Emergent Herbicide

It’s time to start thinking about mulch! Get a jump on spring by putting down your pre-emergent herbicide and mulch before the soil warms up.

Pre-emergent herbicide works by inhibiting the growth of new weeds. Ideally, it needs to be applied before the soil reaches 55 degrees, or the window will be missed, and weeds will have already started germinating.
Our recommendation is to apply pre-emergent and a fresh 2-3” layer of mulch to control the weeds in your beds for up to 90 days. A second application is recommended at this point for late germinating weeds.
Don’t forget about your lawns too! Pre-emergent will keep crabgrass and other lawn weeds from germinating. Call now to schedule your application, and inquire about our packages!
