River Birch

The river birch is a beautiful tree that is grown for its exfoliating bark.  They are available as a single trunk specimen or as shown here with multiple trunks, and make a stunning addition to the winter landscape.
River birch are fast growing, and reach a height of 25-50’ tall x 25-35’ wide.  They are a good choice for poorly drained areas, because they can tolerate flooding.  The best locations are in full sun to develop the best bark color, although they will tolerate partial shade.
